At 4:00 a.m. today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was estimated based on all available data at 310 km east of General Santos City (6.1°N, 128.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center. It is forecast to move west northwest at 22 kph.
Mindanao will experience rains and gusty winds, while Eastern and Central Visayas will be cloudy with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Bicol Region and the rest of Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will be cloudy with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the northeast to north over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate – heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Northern and Eastern seaboards of the country.
The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
