In the town of Uchaly in southern Russia, Republic of Bashkortostan, a 17-year-old teenager met a tragic death after playing Defense of the Ancient for 22 days straight.
This 17-year-old boy had a broken leg and had to stay at home to recuperate. And in order to kill time, he decided to play DoTA or what we called Defense of the Ancients. Ironically, he saw his character die on screen before he passed away at home.
It is said that his only break was to either take a nap, or grab a snack. And for almost twenty two days, this was his daily routine. The boy obviously had limited adult supervision, as the parents were not aware of their son’s addiction at the game.
“While his parents were away for important things, he incessantly played online computer games, wrenching himself away from the screen only to sleep,” Svetlana Abramova, a senior aide at the regional Investigative Committee said after the investigation of the body.
Rustam’s parents were used to hearing the clicking sound of their son’s keyboard, but it suddenly fell silent one night. His mother found out that Rustam is unconscious and she decided to check on him. He was then rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The doctors who conduct the report suspect a deep vein thrombosis. It is explain that’s when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in a leg and can happen if you don’t move for a long time, which the teen hadn’t done. The blood clot can break loose and cause death immediately.
Hope this will be a warning to all that these days, people especially the young ones are so hooked into digital games, whether from smart phones, game consoles or computers. Though some became successful playing video games but many lives were ruined and even caused death for being addicted.Source: http://www.viral4real.com/
