PAGASA UPDATES : Bayong “LAWIN”
At 4:00 p.m today, the eye of Typhoon “LAWIN” was located based on satellite and surface data at 210 km East of Basco, Batanes (20.5°N, 124.3°E) with maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 220 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 13 kph.
Cagayan and Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes group of islands will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Abra, Ilocos Norte, Kalinga, Apayao and Isabela will have rains with gusty winds. MIMAROPA will experience cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have occasional light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Mt. Province and Quirino and coming from the southwest over the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
