A magnitude 5.3 earthquake shook Quezon province late Wednesday, September 3, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In a bulletin, Phivolcs said that the quake struck 92 kilometers northeast of Jomalig, Quezon at around 9:43 pm.

Intensity 3 was felt in Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, Guinayangan in Quezon; and Gapan in Nueva Ecija.
Intensity 2 was felt in Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Tanza, Cavite; and Makati City.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 10 kilometers.
No damage was reported but aftershocks are expected.
