Stewart was photographed kissing and embracing Sanders which surprised industry observers and has put the three in an awkward situation.
The “Twilight” lead actress issued a statement through People.com, saying “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
Sanders, for his part admitted cheating on his wife. In a statement, he said: “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
Meanwhile, Pattinson is said to be in “shock” that his girlfriend cheated on him. Quoting a source, RadarOnline reports that the British actor is ‘devastated by the betrayal’ but has kept mum on the scandalous issue.
“Rob is in shock that Kristen cheated on him, he is absolutely devastated, but right now he doesn’t want to say anything in public until he figures out what he’s going to do,” the source said, according to the website.
