Juan Manuel Marquez said he will be seeking a perfect finale in his four-fight series against Manny Pacquiao in December.
The 39-year-old Mexican said he will be going for a classic knockout when he slugs it out yet again with the fighting congressman from the Philippines.
“[I’m] preparing to find a knockout. I can no longer think about getting a decision, but instead winning by knockout. I can do it, and close the series of fights with Pacquiao with a perfect finale….a series that is already a classic in boxing,” Marquez said in Boxing Scene.
Marquez has had three fights against Pacquiao.
After securing a draw against the heavy-handed Filipino in 2004, Marquez yielded two decisions to Pacquiao, one in 2008 and another in 2010.
Marquez said he has experienced being knocked down, but he has never tasted a knockout defeat.
“In my career, five times I got up from the canvas to show that I am the best. I’ll look for the knockout with experience and intelligence. I think we know each other so well that both of us are going to want to do different things.”
