Donaire win vs Arce by 3rd round KO

Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire lifted the spirits of Filipino fight fans as he outclassed Mexican Jorge Arce en route to a third-round technical knockout victory. Donaire thoroughly dominated the veteran Mexican warrior to retain his world super bantamweight title in the Toyota Center in Houston. Donaire registered three knockdowns in the fight, earning his 30th straight career victory in the process. After the bout, Arce announced his retirement from boxing. Toyota Center, Houston, Texas – IBF super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (31-1, 20KOs) retained his title with an easy three round knockout over Mexican veteran and former four division beltholder Jorge Arce (61-7-2, 46KOs). Arce went down three times before the fight was waved off. Donaire was patient early and landed quick shots on Arce. In the second round, Donaire dropped Arce with a quick right hand and then dominated the action until the bell. Arce started letting his hands go in the third, but that made Arce open himself up to the furious power of Donaire – who dropped him two more times – with the third time Arce going down on his back for the count.
