Typhoon “LABUYO” has intensified slightly as it continues to move closer to Isabela-Aurora Area. Public Storm Warning Signal over Northern Samar is now lifted. Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 – 25 mm per hour (heavy – intense) within the 600 km diameter of Typhoon. Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal #3,#2 & #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under signal #3 and #2 are alerted against storm surges. Typhoon “LABUYO” will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Southern Luzon and Western Visayas.

Fishermen especially those using small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the western and southern seaboards of Southern Luzon and the eastern and western seaboards of Visayas due to big waves generated by Typhoon “LABUYO”. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today. Synopsis: At 4:00 p.m. today, the eye of Typhoon “LABUYO” was located based on available data 130 km North of Virac, Catanduanes or 220 km Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora (15.3°N, 124.3°E) with maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph. Forecast: Cagayan Valley, the regions of Cordillera and Ilocos, Camarines Provinces, Rizal, Northern Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga and Tarlac will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Metro Manila, the rest of CALABARZON and of Bicol Region, Zambales and Bataan will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. The rest of the country will be cloudy with moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
