By Tuesday evening, the storm is forecast to be at 330 km north northeast of Basco, Batanes. According to PAGASA, Tropical Storm ‘Gener’ is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring rains over Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas, especially the western section, and Northern Mindanao. PAGASA Synopsis: At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm “GENER” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 330 km East Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan (19.4°N, 124.9°E). Maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. Forecast to move North Northwest at 11 kph. Forecast: Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Rroup of Islands and Batanes Group of Islands will experience stormy weather while Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao will have rains with gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough. The rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Visayas will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and coming from the Northeast to Northwest over the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
