Ms. Ariella Arida nabs the most-coveted Binibining Pilipinas – Universe 2013 crown during the pageant’s 50th coronation night held Sunday, April 14, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. The 24-year-old beauty queen from Alaminos, Laguna is a University of the Philippines – Los Baños graduate with a degree on Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Standing at 5 feet, 9 inches, the Laguna stunner works as a part-time model before she entered the pageant. Aside from the Binibining Pilipinas – Universe 2013 title, Arida also bagged the Best in Swimsuit special award. She impressed judges during the Q & A portion with her answer on what women can teach men. “One lesson in life that women can teach men is being sensitive. Men are more logical when it comes to decisions. They’re rational and straightforward. Unlike women, we use our hearts and we tend to get emotional when we make our decisions. Sensitivity is something that we women can teach to men,” she said. All pressures are on her as she goes on to represent the country in the Miss Universe 2013 pageant scheduled later this year. The venue of the pageant is yet to be announced also. Bea Rose Santiago, a 22-year-old Toronto-raised, was named as the Bb. Pilipinas International 2013, Mutya Johanna Datul as Bb. Pilipinas Supranational; Joanna Cindy Miranda as Bb. Pilipinas Tourism and Miss Pia Wurtzbach as First Runner-up.
